Dr. Arun D Raj is an accomplished academician with over 13 years of industry and teaching experience. Apart from being specialized in Taxation Laws, Constitution, Environmental Law and International Investment Law, his expertise in the field of Institutional Ranking & Accreditations like BCI, NAAC, NIRF, QS, etc. has made him a prominent figure in an advisory capacity for numerous institutions. He is also part of Doctoral Committees of several prominent research institutions.

Hailing from a small town in Kollam District of Kerala, after completing his school education, he secured his law degree from the prestigious Government Law College Trivandrum, Kerala in 2006 and his post-graduation (LL.M) in Taxation Laws from Calicut University in 2010. He qualified UGC-NET in 2014 and was awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). He has a Ph.D (University of Kerala) in Taxation laws in the topic of “Enforcement of Penal Provisions in the Indian Income Tax Act”.

During his PG years itself, he started teaching law papers for students in different educational institutions as a part time lecturer. After completing his post-graduation, he joined as a junior lawyer and practiced law in district and High Court. He has also worked as a Legal Compliance officer also handling international Mobility matters for the offshore unit of Allianz Insurance Inc. head quartered in Germany and the UK before joining full time research. In 2017, he appeared for the Kerala Judicial Service Examination and secured 41st rank in the state.

In his academic experience he has worked in Trivandrum Government Law College, Law Schools of SRM University, Crescent University & Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) before joining the VMRF family. Being an expert in Taxation law, Environmental Law and Constitution, he has made a mark of his own as a faculty and has also been a resource person and adjudicator in numerous national as well as international events. He is also a seasoned moot trainer with hands on experience in mooting and allied activities. He has played the role as an external moot trainer and also conducts several moot training courses and sessions for several institutions across the state.
