Dr. Pandiaraj holds a Ph.D. in International Law from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Prior to academia, he worked for a decade as a Senior Legal Officer at the Secretariat of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), an intergovernmental organization articulating the international legal concerns of developing countries. He was also Visiting Faculty at the Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), New Delhi for many years. He has presented papers in conferences hosted by ISIL, Asian Law Institute, Asian Society of International Law and so on. He has also published extensively in peer-reviewed international law journals including Indian Journal of International Law, Chinese Journal of International Law, Asian Yearbook of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, Soochow Law Journal, Afronomicslaw, amongst others. Most recently, he contributed a chapter on India and various aspects of its human rights practice to the Encyclopedia of Public International Law in Asia (EPILA) published by Brill in 2021. His teaching and research interests include Public International Law, International Organizational Law, International Legal Theories, Human Rights Law, International Labour Law, Social Protection and Jurisprudence.
