Kush is an environmental and human rights researcher with over five years of experience working at the intersection of law, policy, and regulatory governance. He holds a master’s degree in Human Rights Law from the University of Nottingham, where he graduated with distinction as a Developing Solutions Scholar. During his time in the UK, he worked with the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre and the Environment Agency, focusing on regulatory governance and corporate accountability.

He completed his undergraduate studies at the Institute of Law, Nirma University (2014–2019) on scholarship. His work has involved collaborating with policy research institutions and contributing to research and advocacy reports on environmental justice and regulatory reform. In 2025, he was awarded the Sakharov Fellowship of the European Parliament for his work on environmental and social justice issues. He has also completed summer school programmes at the University of Essex and the Global Campus of Human Rights (Venice) on full scholarships.

His research interests include just energy transition, environmental justice, and the intersection of environmental governance and shrinking civic space. He has delivered lectures on Constitutional Law, Environmental Law, and Legal Research.

Outside of academia, he enjoys cooking and is an avid follower of cricket and tennis.
