Vinayaka Mission's Law School (VMLS) hosted an enlightening guest lecture on the 'Digitalization of Government and Legal Concerns,' on 10/07/2024 featuring the esteemed speaker, G S Naveen Kumar, IAS Secretary Revenue & Relief Commissioner, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The session, held on 10th July, began with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Sanga Mithra, Associate Professor at VMLS. Dr. Mithra set the tone for the event, highlighting the importance of understanding the legal ramifications of digital transformation in government.The session provided an in-depth exploration of the intersection between digital transformation in government operations and the accompanying legal challenges. Mr. Kumar's extensive experience in the public sector and digital initiatives offered attendees valuable insights into the current landscape of government digitalization.
Key topics discussed included the implementation of digital systems in government operations, the benefits of digitalization for efficiency and transparency, and the significant legal concerns that arise in this context. Mr. Kumar emphasized the importance of robust legal frameworks to address issues such as data protection, cybersecurity, and the ethical use of digital technologies.
Attendees, comprising students, faculty, and legal professionals, engaged actively in the Q&A session, raising pertinent questions about the practical implications of digital policies and regulations.
