After completing his undergraduate degree from National Law University, Jodhpur in 2018, he launched his career as a corporate lawyer and worked with some of India’s top law firms for around four years. During his law firm career, he represented renowned domestic and international clients from several sectors on a broad range of mandates. His practice areas primarily encompassed employment law, mergers and acquisitions, commercial, and regulatory law. In 2023, he was recognized for his expertise in labour and employment law by Legal 500, the largest global lawyer ranking directory.
After gaining significant experience practicing corporate law, Srinivas decided to broaden his horizons and pursued an interdisciplinary LL.M. focused on the economic analysis of law. He studied at Universität Hamburg, Germany, and LUMSA, Italy, as part of the European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE) programme (2022-2023). While in Hamburg, Srinivas also briefly interned with the in-house legal department of one of the world’s largest shipping companies where he gained critical insights into the complexities of the international shipping business.
Post LL.M., Srinivas embarked on a career in legal academia. Driven by a passion for interdisciplinary scholarship, his intellectual pursuits extend across a diverse spectrum, including ESG, climate change, corporate governance, labour law, tort law, economic analysis of law, public policy, and literature. He also has a keen interest in analysing the evolution of legal education and the legal profession triggered by technological, societal, environmental, and economic changes.
At VMLS, Srinivas aims to leverage his extensive academic and industry experience, along with his research interests, to advance the institution’s vision. With a focus on inclusivity, diversity, and equipping learners with skills relevant to the contemporary legal landscape, VMLS aims to foster excellence in legal education and practice. Srinivas’s dedication to these values aligns with the institution’s mission to shape the law school of the future, where innovation, inclusivity, and justice intersect.
