Ashwani Kumar Singh

Ashwani Kumar Singh holds a Masterā€™s degree in LLM Public Law from University College London (UCL) and a Bachelorā€™s degree in BALLB(Hons) from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar. His academic journey is distinguished by notable achievements, including receiving Turing Funding and VDI Leadership Fund from UCL during his masterā€™s program. These grants enabled his participation in the ICONS Summer/Winter School for Junior Scholars, 2023 at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and facilitated a research stay at the Gilbert + Tobin Centre of Public Law, UNSW.

Ashwani is an active researcher with a keen interest in comparative constitutional law and theory, constitution-making, democracy, socio-economic rights, judicial review, and the philosophy of criminal law. He has presented working papers at prestigious conferences such as the ICONS Annual Conference 2022 and the ICONS Summer/Winter School for Junior Scholars 2023.

Ashwani’s dedication to academic excellence extends beyond research. He actively contributes to the legal community by regularly writing on constitutional and criminal issues. Moreover, Ashwani’s interdisciplinary approach to legal studies reflects his passion for exploring complex societal issues through different lenses.

Ashwani is also known for his involvement in extracurricular activities and his love for poetry, ghazals, and philosophical discussions.
