Mr. Justice P. Kalaiyarasan

Mr. Justice P. Kalaiyarasan is an legal expert, lawyer, former judge of the Madras High Court and Chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Official Language Commission. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Loyola College in Chennai, followed by a Bachelor of Law degree from the Madras Law College. He then went on to earn a Master of Law degree from the University of Madras.

Justice Kalaiyarasan started his legal career in 1983 and began practicing law at the Madras High Court. After years of practice, he was appointed as a Judge of the Madras High Court in 2008. During his tenure as a judge, he presided over numerous high-profile cases and earned a reputation for his integrity and impartiality.

After his retirement from the judiciary, Mr. Justice P. Kalaiyarasan was appointed as the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Official Language Commission, where he has been instrumental in promoting the use of Tamil language in government offices and public institutions. He has also been actively involved in promoting legal education and has delivered lectures and participated in seminars and conferences on various legal topics.

In recognition of his contributions to the legal profession and public service, Mr. Justice P. Kalaiyarasan has been honored with several awards and accolades, including the Tamil Nadu State Government’s “Kalaignar Karunanidhi Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2019. His career and achievements continue to inspire young lawyers and legal professionals across the country.
