Sowmiya Narayan Rajagopalan

Sowmiya Narayan Rajagopalan, a Chennai native, brings a rich array of experiences and academic accomplishments to his role as Assistant Professor at Vinayaka Mission’s Law School (VMLS). He commenced his academic journey with undergraduate studies at the School of Law, SASTRA Deemed to be University, followed by the pursuit of advanced degrees in the legal domain. Notably, he earned his LL.M in Corporate Law from the esteemed National Law University Jodhpur, and furthered his academic pursuits with an MSc in Law and Finance from Trinity College Dublin.

In addition to his academic achievements, Sowmiya has also engaged in practical legal experiences that have shaped his understanding of the field. Prior to joining VMLS, he dedicated himself to teaching legal studies to children at Bhavans Rajaji Vidhyashram in Chennai, nurturing a passion for education and mentorship. Furthermore, he honed his legal skills through practice before the esteemed Madras High Court, gaining invaluable insights into the practical applications of law.

Sowmiya’s areas of expertise encompass a wide spectrum, including Corporate and Commercial Law, International Law, and Criminal Law. His multidisciplinary background and diverse experiences contribute to his comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape. Beyond his legal pursuits, Sowmiya harbors a keen interest in sports, previously achieving recognition as a top 16 Table Tennis player in the country.
